Monbiot on snow and Global Warming

Here we are in the depths of the big freeze - what would we Brits do if we couldn't moan about the weather? - and some of my American friends are still confusing weather with climate. In today's Guardian I came across  That snow outside is what global warming looks like

"Unusually cold winters may make you think scientists have got it all wrong. But the data reveals a chilling truth."

Thought provoking .

It's not just Americans. I know a British blogger who insists that global warming isn't happening and who seems to think that the climate change movement is a diversion to divert money from improving the economy.

Well, 40% of Americans believe in strict creationism too. The stupid, it burns....

Apparently "facts" have no meaning here anymore. If the Chattering Heads on Faux News tell people that global warming isn't real, no amount of data or reasoned analysis will convince them otherwise.

I need another country....

In case you didn't link this to Facebook, I shared it there. Thanks, DP. These phenomena are why the whole debate should be centered around the words "Climate Change," not global warming.
